In Xining....3 Hours to Go

We are in Xining - we arrived here safely yesterday afternoon.  Our guide met us at the airport and drove us to the hotel - about 45 minutes away.  The area is very pretty with mountains everywhere.  We saw quite a few ethnic groups yesterday on our drive here, mostly people from Tibet.

We walked around the area near our hotel and found the outdoor market, the grocery store, and some places to get dinner.  Here there are tunnels under the streets, which is a huge help to avoid crossing the streets - however each tunnel has 5-6 openings into different streets so it can be confusing.  Inside the tunnels are tons of shops of all different kinds.  We'll take some pictures today or tomorrow.

We are close to adjusted to the schedule, we all slept until 4AM this morning.  It's 7AM here and we leave to meet Nola at 8:45.  We meet her around 10AM!.  The internet seems okay, although kind of slow so we will try to post some pictures later tonight of our gotcha day.
