Today I spoke with someone at the National Visa Center (NVC). They confirmed that our petition has been received and forwarded to the Embassy in China and a copy of the letter was sent to us in the mail (regular postal mail). Great news. Our agency needs an electronic copy of that letter to drop off our Article 5 materials. According to the rep on the phone, it will take 3 days to email a copy. We really don't want to wait another 3 days, so I followed-up with an email requesting a copy, hoping to get it today or tomorrow.
If we can get it to China by Thursday, that would still leave us the 2 weeks it takes for our Article 5 to be processed and 7 days for China to issue our Travel Approval before the week long closure for Chinese New Years. That's cutting it really close, I don't think we will have approval until after the holiday. Still should be in time for Nola's 3rd birthday, but would be nice to have longer to plan and find great airline prices.
Other updates:
- Nola's bed is put together, we purchased a mattress this weekend
- We received our visas back for the 3 of us to go to China
Getting closer!
