Happy New Year

Just a quick update to everyone since we have not posted before the holidays.  Not too much to report, but we did hear from our USCIS officer today and our 800 application should be reviewed and approved (assuming everything is okay) by Monday.  Our officer was leaving work early today so not able to approve today.  This approval is specifically for Nola, to allow us to bring her into the US.

Next steps:
1.  NVC Cable to Guangzhou and PDF copy to agency - 3-5 days
2.  Article 5 issued in China - 2 weeks
3.  Travel Approval (last and final step) - average is 2-4 weeks

Chinese New Years closures will start on February 9th, so hoping we can get through all 3 steps before then, but we should at least be through #1 and 2 before the holiday.

We also confirmed that the book we sent to be included in our care package arrived in China yesterday, waiting to confirm that it has been delivered so that our care package can go to Nola.  We are going to buy another copy of this book in case she doesn't have her copy when we meet her - it has both English and Mandarin words in it,hoping someone will read it to her while she is in China.  It's pretty cool - you can see some of the pages from it on Amazon, from the link, click on the "Click to look inside" button: http://www.amazon.com/Elmers-Colours-English-Chinese-Elmer-David/dp/1840590564

Starting to checkout airline prices....exciting!!!  And have some shopping to do - car seats, mattress, toys for while we are in China...
